Cathy Balzano, FNP-C, was born in Thailand and came to the United States when she was seven years old. She speaks Thai and Laos. Soon after high school graduation she enlisted the United States Army Reserve. After completing her military training, she came back to Arizona State University graduating cum laude with her Bachelorettes degree in Nursing (BSN) while working full time in the intensive care unit (ICU). Upon completing her BSN, she then received her direct commission (1stLieutenant) in the Army Reserve. She worked most of her nursing career in the ICU but also worked in telemetry, post anesthesia care unit, and as a nurse case manager for the Warrior Transition Battalion. She completed her master’s degree in Family Nurse Practitioner with honors of magna cum laude at University of Phoenix.
She is a board certified FNP through American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB). She has been in the military for 30 years and is currently a Colonel in the position of Battalion Chief Nurse. She prepares soldiers for missions throughout the world by coordinating soldier’s mobilization medical readiness, credentialing profiles and serves as the liaison between military and civilian medical readiness teams. She is happily married to Jason and has one precious little girl she calls her “Love Bug”. She enjoys spending most of her time with her family and friends, crafting and playing with her love bug, and loves to travel with her family.
